Dear Friend,
Ok...maybe I got a bit carried away there, if you've got bad taste I might not be able to help you (but I'll sure give it my best shot). But just about ANYONE can learn how to dance. Here's a simple test to figure out if you have the necessary skills: if you can walk...you can dance!
Great! What's next? Just a case of getting your body used to moving in different ways, you know, like all the dancers you see.
You wanna be able to dance cool. Like those hip kids on the street or club you have to turn around to watch, but then nervously turn your body back the other way again when they signal that it's the next victim's turn to dance.
"I Don't Want To Dance...Never Ever Ever!!!!"
You know the feeling well. It's a huge celebration, it's Christmas, it's your best friend's party, it's YOUR OWN BIRTHDAY PARTY! But yet you're not enjoying it as much as the other guests.
All around you people are getting up and dancing, enjoying themselves.....except YOU.
Your favourite song comes on, just as you think this will get you up and going, you get put off because you think you can't dance as well as the people around. And then someone pesters you and you eventually get up and your best move is.....walking side to side!
So then you find your way back to the corner of the room. And stay there the rest of the night.
A familiar feeling to you? Well you know what....I USED TO BE THAT TABLE in the corner of the room....people even used to get me to hold their drinks so they could go out on the floor and dance! I'd got sick of it so I COMMITTED TO LEARN how to dance, not just dance but dance really well.
I discovered that it was something ANYBODY COULD DO, yet so many people didn't know how to, even though they wanted to and I wanted to help them.
"A Question For The Soul"
Now let me ask you a question. Are you going to spend all of those events uncomfortably waiting on the side everytime it's time to dance? Just hanging onto every second while you wait for your friends to come back to you? As you read this page you'll realize how this is just not an option for you anymore and how the desire in you to dance is just waiting to be unleashed.
Knowing the sheer number of people who want to learn a move or two, I've decided to share my knowledge with all the non-dancing community I used to be a part of. So soon YOU too can have the skills and hip dance moves to bust it with the hottest dancers around.
Welcome to the land of lockin'
Before breakdancing (bboyin'), there was poppin' and the robot, and before poppin' there was lockin'. It's the style that effectively started the whole street dance craze. And for good reason too!
How best to explain locking? Think some of Michael Jackson moves, some of Usher's moves, some of Janet Jackson's moves, throw in a few James Brown tricks and elements of Saturday Night Fever (yeah, you remember that movie?). Then take it back to a time when dancing was more about having a good time than competing, and dancing your troubles away with happy smiling faces. The result...you have locking!
Don't take yourself too seriously in this class, roll up your socks, paste on your smile, forget about time and start lockin it out!
What you'll learn:
The exciting moves of locking which helped create the whole street dance craze. |
You'll be developing your rhythm and co-ordination straight away.....and be pulling off a dance routine right from your first class! |
A way of improving your dancing anytime.....most dance teachers don't even mention this yet it's starkingly simple! |
Dancing is a skill that you can learn. You'll amaze yourself as you see your dancing improve every week. |
An easy, simple breakdown of every move. You will be able to pick up and learn EVEN IF you've never danced a dance step in your life. |
You'll have access to an open exchange of knowledge. Some teachers are reluctant to share certain moves and have closely-guarded secrets. I'll be revealing my whole treasure trove. |
Fun exercises which will develop your technique and give you a strong foundation so you can learn more advanced combinations and reach the high standard you've always aspired to. |
Individual feedback from the teacher so you know where you're going wrong and feel the difference.....so it doesn't happen again and you save yourself months of frustration. |
Understand why moves are done a certain way. This makes it easier to remember how to do them properly meaning you'll be getting better quicker. |
A structured course so you are taken right by the hand from the basics to the more advanced stuff. You cannot fail to learn with this easy method. |
You'll find out how you can create your own combinations so you'll be able to dance anywhere, in the club, on the street, at home, waiting in the queue.....wherever you want, whenever you want. |
Your ideas and personality will be nurtured so you develop your own dancing style. You'll learn ways of being different and developing your own flavour so you can stand out in any crowd! |
What other people are saying:
If you have never danced before and looking for inspiration or something entertaining to watch I really advise you to come check out the class, it's almost a guarantee that you will either laugh your head off at the amazing locking by Kevin or you will be eager to get changed and start learning."
